A passion for food for nearly 50 years
In 1971 Frank Cangemi opened Miles Farmers Market as a seasonal, open air market selling fresh fruits and vegetables.
Waking up at 3:00 a.m. every morning, Frank heads down to the Northern Ohio Food Terminal to select the finest fruit and freshest vegetables to be sold at the market that same day. He has kept that same routine for nearly 50 years and with the help of his knowledgeable staff has created the vibrant store our customers have come to know and love. Throughout the years the market has seen many additions to the building as well as the products on the shelves and in the cases. Cheese and eggs were the first to come followed by a small selection of fresh meats and deli items. Those departments today are now some of the largest you will find in all of the state and feature hundreds of selections of cheeses from around the world, meats sourced locally from the best farms in Ohio and old world deli meats and cheeses found nowhere else in town. We eventually added a bakery that makes fresh bread, pies, cookies, muffins, cakes and much more every morning in our ovens to add to the unique offerings only found here! Benny’s famous bistro came last but it brought with it the best fried chicken you’ve ever had!!! Our signature breading was painstakingly created by Frank and the team at the market and is now considered a staple of our customers.
